Tlos

178 pictures     7.30 minutes HQ video

One of the six principal cities forming the Lycian Confederacy. The town is located about 28 km from Fethiye. The city had been founded by the hero Tlos, son of Tremilus, probably in the 2nd century B.C. There is evidence that Tlos was a member of the confederacy from the 2nd century B.C. Two wealthy philanthropists were responsible for much of the city's building activity in the 2nd century A.D. One of these was Opramoas of Rhodiapolis. Tlos was inhabited until the 19th century.
