Mallia
Mallia is on the northern coast, where another imposing "palace" was built. It suffered the same phases of destruction and reconstruction as Phaistos and Knossos, but it was not reoccupied following the Mycenaean conquest of the island.
The first palace was built in 1900 B.C., and destroyed in 1700 B.C.
along with the other palaces on the island. The new palace was erected in about 1650 B.C., and its final destruction by fire occurred in about 1450 B.C.
French excavations have uncovered a mostly two-story structure similar to those already seen in terms of ground plan and height.
