Crete is the largest and southernmost island of Greece, some say - the most beautiful one. It is a mountainous island, rich with picturesque landscapes and peaceful beaches.
This was the birthplace of the Minoan culture, which was the first advanced European culture. The Minoan culture reached unprecedented achievements in art and architecture. The various palace compounds that can be found around the island were built during that period. The archaeological sites in Crete, big and small, are a testimony to the glorious past of the island.
The survey in Crete was conducted in 2 photography expeditions along 1000 kilometers. Visiting the sites, caves and villages, especially in the mountainous region of the island, was an amazing experience.
